Siren Ink - Amoe.

The start of a sleeve for my brethren Amoe, he gave me a free reign with the letters which is always a touch.

Siren Tattoo - Harriet. Feather fledging

Siren Tattoo - Emeli Sande. Frida Carlo

This was a portrait of Frida Carlo for Emeli Sande. She was really enthusiastic with this project and had me hyped on the project.

Siren Tattoo - Amie.

Amie came to me with an array of ideas, we cruised a load of images first but he liked the life and death latina, we were really pleased with the fan too. Obviously I really enjoyed this piece. Much respect to Amie.

Siren Tattoo - Stockers Steve. Lucky Number 7

As always Steve sat like a trooper without a flinch. He had me hyped this time with his idea, to what is becoming a full sleeve.

Siren Tattoo - Roz. Feminine butterfly.

This was Roz's first tattoo a few months back, she sat through nicely and I feel that it came out great.

Siren Tattoo - Ian. Memorial.

This is a memorial piece i did a few months back, Ian had sadly lost his father to a motorcycle accident weeks before. He had a rough idea of what he wanted; a wicker and blade cross with the wings, I added the illumination with the scroll to the mix too which I feel gave it some life, hope I did his father proud.

Siren Tattoo - Gavin. Lions head.

This is a tattoo from 3months ago, I was asked for a lions head framed in a celtic sun, i felt that for the placement the Lions face would have been too small, therefore I suggested we go for one or the other. I sat and drew the Lion in front of Gavin and saw he was more than convinced but encouraging me that (because he's a fitness man/ body builder) that he wanted as well groomed mane, this I think suited him down to the ground. He sat through it like he'd had loads of tattoo's already but it was his first one, got to respect that!

Siren Tattoo - Jez. Art Nouveau.

This was a tattoo I did for Jez about 9 months ago, he was keen to capture the Art Nouveau essence, which was exciting because nobody had come to me for that before, great idea! Thought to add colour to the ear rings, belt and leaves....we'll see how he feels about that!

Siren Tattoo - Linford. Skull, Roses & Pocketwatch.

A work in progress, going to be a three quarter sleeve, photo taken 2 sessions in.

Siren Tattoo - Stockers Steve. Pin up.

Steve has been really focussed and dedicated having had many sessions consecutively. This is just one session from the sleeve in progress. Clouds, dice, roses and flames have been put in the background since. Hyped on the final sleeve photos.

Siren Tattoo - Bware. Memorial to brother.

A memorial piece done in tribute to my boy Bware's brother, following on from a previous dragon I did in tribute too.

Siren Tattoo - Harriet. Paisley Tattoo

This is a tattoo from about a year and a half ago. Harriet had me do another paisley design on her leg since, need photos though!

Siren Tattoo - Emily. Roses foot tattoo

A tattoo from about 7/8 months ago. Was fun to do a classic piece like this.

Siren Tattoo - Loco. Stormy city

A work in progress, Loco came to me with a really interesting idea and sat through a solid 7 hours in one go-- hardcore. Looking forward to the finished product.

Siren Tattoo - Paula. Leopard Print

Siren Tattoo - Dessy. Life's A Gamble.

A quick sketch for jeffs half sleeve, just a small section. Really had fun with this, hope to get to do more like this in the future.

Siren Tattoo - Amoe. Latin Script

Josh - Start of HipHop inspired sleeve. Work In Progress

Stockers Steve work in progress pin up girl.

Linford - Candy skull. Work in Progress

Dirty Devas- Vortex cloud. Work in progress

Kieren- we all must meet our moment of truth

Josh - session 2 work in prog beat box

Lambo- work in prog. memorial

Siren Tattoo - Matt - Filagree with Lady

This is a tattoo for my boy Matt, he's been really dedicated and this is half sleeve no.1 to match the forthcoming matching sleeve no.2 with filagree and another female face. I was given quite a free rein here and have been hyped on it since the onset, obviously because i love black and grey and I like doing female faces and pin ups. Again the piece still needs finishing.

Half sleeve in progress, the mask is on the inner arm.

Kylies back, pretty extensive cover up. There was abunch of little tattoos under the area of the skull. Started about a year ago.

Thanks Kylie, we need to add a couple more flowers!

If you like beer you`ll love this..

So I got a chance to meet a great guy named Eddie at Evander Preston Studios, there he introduced me to a great Florida pilsner beer he and Evander makes called Evander beer. I am very picky with the taste of beer although I will drink anything, If that makes any sense. This beer is strong, smooth and clean tasting, also and most important local! They run the most unique looking shop in Pass-A-Grille, not only is Pass-A-Grille a beautiful and must visit place in Florida but Evander`s studio is a great stop, it is filled with masks, paintings, sculptures, jewelry and much more, a museum to say the least. I am always impressed when meeting people doing something unique and extraordinary, thinking outside the box and not conforming to the norm. Only meeting eddie for a short but memorable moment I felt great energy from there studio and I hope to visit again soon. Go check them out and drink there beer! Checkout there site http://www.evanderland.com/

Freehand, about 4 1/2 hours. Filled in some open space he had on an old tattoo, I didnt do the surrounding stuff.

A sneak peek of some progress done an organic floral leg sleeve.

Some photographs I took in Massachusetts

How to go about getting large scale tattoo work done..

When getting large tattoos it is important to understand the time put into this, for clients inquiring about getting large scale work here is a few things you should know. When getting a full sleeve you are looking at a minimum of 30 hours, depending on design you could be looking up to 40 hours or more. I recommend coming in at least once a month until finished, this keeps the artist inspired and keeps the tattoo looking fresh. Rather than coming in once a year and having to do touch ups, this costing you more money! When starting a large tattoo I recommend saving for at least a quarter of the tattoo, and coming in frequently and giving your self time to replenish your savings so you can come in often.

In reality when you start your first tattoo session I have already put in 5-10 hours into preparation for your piece, and I have not been paid for this. Thats not a bad thing, as long as you the client respect the artist and the work, so you are dedicated to the practice of saving money and getting tattooed frequently. Most of my clients set at least 2 or 3 appointments when they are ready to start there first session to keep the ball rolling. The practice of tattoo is both the client and the artist responsibility to dedicate there time and full effort into creating a unique piece of art. By applying this energy to your tattoo just gives you a better tattoo and a great experience. Hopefully this will be helpful for anybody wanting to start a large tattoo.

World Class Quality Japan Tattoos for Tattoos | Tattoo Ideas

Are you trying to get a few tattoo ideas but not sure which one to go for? It is overwhelming how many tattoos there are to choose from. With it being a really important decision you need to make sure it is the one for you. There are thousands of cool designs that you might like at the time but when you start thinking about having it permanently done you start to have second thoughts.

Here are some tips that will help you choose successful tattoo ideas.

Tattoo Ideas Tip #1:

Make sure you choose your design very carefully! There is a saying among tattoo artists that love lasts forever, but a tattoo last six months longer. Make sure you choose a tattoo design that has personal significance to you. Do not get tattoo flash just because it is trendy at the moment.

Tattoo Ideas Tip #2:

Choose the best tattoo artist you can find in you area. Even if there is not one in your area it is worth traveling a few miles to get the tattoo. Even the best tattoo designs can be badly manipulated by an inexperienced and low-grade tattoo artist. Check out their older work and see if you can speak to any of their previous clients. They will soon let you know if the artist knows what they are doing and if they are happy and would recommend the tattoo artist. It is the artists job to turn your chosen tattoo ideas into reality. So talk with them about your procedure so you make sure you get exactly what you want. Because whatever you end up getting is going to be with you for a long time.

Tattoo Ideas Tip #3:

A good number of tattoo artists will provide you with an actual design shaded in and with color and the line art of the design. If you have loads of reference material to show the tattoo artist this will aid in communication with the artist. Then you are sure to turn your tattoo ideas into reality.

Just got back from Hell city, here are some paintings I made there. I had a great time and took alot home from this.

Nice to start and finish tattoos in one shot. Had alot of fun on these with all the textures and natural colors. Thanks!

Jessica's Feather for her Mother

I met Jessica on the express platform at 34th Street earlier this month.

She shared this gorgeous peacock feather tattooed on the upper right section of her back:

The piece is an homage to her mother, who loves everything peacock, and has countless items, like bracelets and other jewelery, that emulate the vivid colors of these beautiful birds.

She credits this tattoo to an artist known only as Allison.

Michelle's Tattoo Takes Your Breath Away

Michelle has a lot of ink, twenty-one tattoos, all told, but when I stopped her in Penn Station, she chose to share this one with us:

Boldly planted on her upper right arm, Michelle explained that she paraphrased and pared down a longer quotation to read, more simply, "Live for the moments that take your breath away". I believe she was referring to the saying, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

The flowers in the photo are cherry blossoms that were done in blue, rather than the traditional pink because, as Michelle tells it, she's "not really a pink kind of girl".

This tattoo was inked by Fat Tony at Hobo's Tattoo Shop in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Thanks to Michelle for sharing this tattoo with us here on Tattoosday!
